Make faux rock candy for your dolls...

Pictured above are finished rock candy sticks for 18" dolls or scout SWAPS.
In modern America, the term "rock candy" refers to brittle large natural sugar crystals grown on a stick.  This candy is formed by allowing supersaturated solution of sugar and water to crystallize onto a surface suitable for crystal nucleation, such as a string, stick, or plain granulated sugar. Heating the water before adding the sugar allows more sugar to dissolve thus producing larger crystals. Crystals form after 6 to 7 days. Food coloring may be added to the mixture to produce colored candy.
To make our version of this candy craft you will need a bag of plastic, tribeads. These come in many colors but not all tribeads are translucent or semitransparent so make sure to look for this characteristic in the description of beads that you order online. We think the translucent beads look more like rock candy than the ordinary ones.
Also purchase toothpicks with one blunt end and leave this end open for your doll's to hold. Stack the beads at the opposite end with a point. I used hot glue on the tip end of my toothpicks to hold the tribeads in place.
