The text reads "I learn sew much as a scout!" |
For this scout SWAPS you will need to collect: white school glue, a wooden spool, embroidery floss (any color), typing paper, and a permanent felt tip marker.
Smooth on a thin layer of white school glue over the side areas of a wooden spool. Carefully apply embroidery floss around the entire length of the spool where thread would normally be wound. Fill in all the gaps between the floss layer so that the spool looks full of threads.
Cut a length of narrow paper and write in the text above or a different one of your own. Twist the end of the paper at one end to form a hollow space for an additional piece of floss to be threaded through. Attach the paper note through the hole of the spool and the hollow space of the note. Tie a knot between the two.
Clip the tail end of the note to make it look like a small flag.
