The Wishing Swing Poem

Another swinging poem here and here.

The Wishing Swing
by Ethel Parke Jones

I wish this swing
Could go so high
I'd touch the thing
They call the sky.

I'd find the moon,
Though it might hide
Behind a cloud,
And on it ride.

I'd pluck a star
For in my hair,
As I should be
A Queen up there!

I'd see where rain
Is made, and snow,
And how they fall
To us below.

Oh! wouldn't it
Be jolly fun
To touch the stars
And moon, and sun?
