The supplies you will need for this paper doll craft are: decorative "baby" motif scrap papers, pom-poms, the printable below, paper stickers with a "baby" theme, solid colors of paper in pink and blue or yellow and green, coloring pencils, white school glue, an old envelope for the babies bunting.

Step-by-Step Instructions:
- For this craft, you can use any envelope that will hold the Envelope Baby comfortably. Gently rub down the old envelope with a cotton ball and a bit of water until the gum paste holding the folded shape together loosens and opens up.
- Trace around the open envelope on top of a decorative piece of scrapbook paper. Now you have a "bunting" to hold the paper baby.
- Fold and glue the decorative envelope bunting as before except leave one end of the envelope flap up and open. Your paper baby will slide in while he or she is napping.
- To make the Paper Envelope Baby, print out the sleeping infants below from a home computer. You may choose to color them by hand or print them on "flesh" colored solid papers as I did in the sample above.
- After cutting the babies out, I then printed the printable again in pastel shades.
- Then I cut out the baby pajamas and glued these to the first versions in flesh tones.
- I made my babies even heavier by backing them with light weight cardboard, but, this step is optional.
- Use stickers and pom-poms to add more detail.
- Color shadows with pencils and the baby cheeks with pinks and reds to compliment their facial colors.
- Write a special message on the back of the Envelope Baby: Happy Birthday or Baby Announcement or Thinking of You!
