Craft a doll's fairy wand for play...

Basic steps for making doll sized fairy wands for playtime.

To craft a fairy wand for your doll's birthday you will need: wire, skewers (for an 18" doll, toothpicks for a Barbie doll), beads, embroidery floss, masking tape, white school glue and a needle and thread.
  1. Shape the wires. Attach thin wire to the sides of the skewer you are working with using masking tape. Bend a shape above or around the skewer if you like. I bent a star for one of our fairy wands and a swirl shape for the other. I also slid beads up the handle of each fairy wand too.
  2. Wrap the wires. Use embroidery floss to wrap the wire and wooden skewer. Our floss was variegated with pastel colors: pink, blue, yellow, lavender and mint green.
  3. Thread beads around the wires. I then threaded a fine needle and attached pink seed beads in a variety of places on the fairy wand shapes. I even strung a few to dangle of the sides.
