Our Top 10 Mini Pizzas for Dolls

        Our mixed media, American Girl doll sized pizzas are made with the following ingredients: Sculpey oven baked clay, foam sheets, brown paper bags, acrylic paints, colorful papers, seed beads, glitter glues, puff paints, Mod Podge, lids, caps and cardboard. 

1. Pepperoni Pizza for those dolls who love classic favorites.

       First you will need to gather a variety of lids or cut cardboard shapes the size of pizza crust that you want to make. The pizzas shown here measure two to three inches in diameter for our 18" doll pizza parlor. We covered these cut cardboard shapes (squares or circles) and old jar lids with white glue and shredded brown paper bags. Let the faux pizza dough made from this paper mache technique dry completely before adding the toppings.

2. The traditional Ground Beef Pizza.

       Squeeze out red or yellow acrylic paint onto the top of the mini pizzas. This is the pretend sauce! Allow to the harden fully before glueing on the shredded yellow and white papers that represent the cheese. 

3. Mozzarella and sliced, roasted green pepper pizza.

       Shape tiny veggies and meat and cheeses using Sculpey oven-bake clay. Bake these tiny decorations as directed on the package of clay. Glue the faux toppings to your doll pizzas using tacky craft glue and let this dry over night. Paint the edges of your pizzas with light brown washes to make the faux crusts appear baked. Mod Podge the pizzas to seal everything in place before playing with the mini foods.

4. Vegetable Lovers Deep Dish Pizza for dolls who love vegetarian meals. This one features
broccoli and artichoke hearts. All of our deep dish pizzas are made using jar lids covered
with white school glue layered between shredded paper bags.

       Recycle juice can lids to use as pizza pans for your doll's kitchen or pizza parlor. They look like the real thing and are durable for play.

5. Deep Dish Barbecue Chicken Lover's Pizza. In order to make the "pesto" looking
surface, I dipped a toothbrush in thined green paint and then spritzed the crust by
scratching across the toothbrush over the pizza. The same technique was also used
on the veggie Pesto pizza below.
