When Mother Was A Little Girl
by Anna Medary
When mother was a little girl,
She was so much like me.
She used to have to eat oatmeal,
And drink some milk for tea.
She used to have to go to school,
And study awful hard,
And after that she's play or skate,
Right in her own big yard.
She used to have to be polite,
And always curtsey, too.
And once she wore my very sash,
The one that's pink and blue!
I like to have her tell me this.
And she says, "It may be,
That later on my little girl,
Will want to know 'bout me!"
