Left, the dessert details seen from above. Right, paper bandana design printed on the cupcake liners. |
These delicious looking red, white and blue doll cupcakes are made with oven-bake clay, narrow cardboard tubes and cupcake liners.
First cut the thin cardboard tubing in short lengths. Then shape the decorative tops using the oven bake clay. I use Sculpey. Half of our cupcakes are decorated with blue icing and red strawberries. The other half are with white icing and blue berries. Well, with pretend ones anyway.
I used a bandana cupcake liner cut down to glue neatly around the sides of the tubes. Then I cut small rounds from the liner scraps to cover the bottoms of our cupcakes using the same white school glue.
