Finished doll versions of white sugar bags. |
It's time to stock up on baking supplies for our doll's pantry. White sugar is a pretty important ingredient to have plenty of, for baking all kinds of pies, cakes and cookies!
The way that your doll's baking supplies will look depends largely on what is available to you from your own family's pantry.
Look carefully for bags of sugar the have tiny logos. The smaller the text and logo, the more convincing a doll copy of this same package will look once you've cut it down to a smaller version.

Supply List:
- recycled sugar bags
- white school glue
- cotton batting
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Select only clean, recycled sugar bags to work with.
- Gently pull out the inner lining of the bag.
- Cut out the front and back of your doll's sugar bag from the original in such a way as to display the small logo on the front side of it's play version at least. I was able to cut mine to show the logo on both sides of the smaller bag.
- Using white school glue, seal the bottom and both longer sides of each bag of sugar. Let dry.
- Using a long pair of scissors, gently open up the bag and push cotton batting inside.
- Reshape the bottom corners of the bag with the cotton inside. I had to glue extra yellow paper to the bottom halves of each sugar bag in order to get these to stand on their own and to also cover any print at the bottom that I didn't want to show.
- Stuff the bag with cotton until it looks full in the way you wish.
- Crease and roll down the open end at the top with a bit of glue to seal permanently.
- Glue on extra logos of pictures cut from the original bags that will make your doll version look more authentic.
Left, the original sugar bags. Center, bags cut down to doll sizes. Right the top rolled edges of the doll sized white sugar bags. |
I managed to make six doll versions of sugar bags from two original recycled bags. They will look adorable displayed on a doll grocery store shelf or inside of a doll's kitchen pantry. |
