Wheat's page and verse. |
Assemble a mini doll sized book: Right, is the wheat's illustration and verse. Visitors can collect all the vegetable illustrations and verse from "Mother Earth's Children" to print and construct a small book of verse for their dolls. Simply drag each png. into a Word Document, print, cut out all of the images the same size and staple the pages together at the left edge. Squeeze out some white school glue along the stapled edge of the pages and attach a cardboard cover.
"I work," said genial Mrs. Wheat,
"To give the world enough to eat;
I'm always happy when there's bread
Enough, so every child is fed."

A Harvest Prayer
For sowing and reaping, for cold and for heat,
For sweets of the flowers, and gold of the wheat,
For ships in the harbors, for sails on the sea,
O, Father in heaven, our songs rise to Thee.
For parents who care for us day after day,
For sisters and brothers, for work and for play,
For dear little babies so helpless and fair,
O, Father, we send Thee our praise and our prayer.
