DIY New Year's Day Party Crowns

The finished resulting wire, party crowns. Shape these to fit any
sized doll, both 18 and 14 inches. These tiaras are just as glittery
as Marisol Luna's rhinestone tiara!
This crown (also called a tiara) craft is so easy to make! All it requires is a bit of imagination and a few easy supplies.
Begin by bending metallic silver chenille stems into a series of arches.
Wrap the ends of the arches tightly down and around one long stem that will be the bottom half of your doll's party crown.

Supply List:
  • wire cutters or scissors
  • silver metallic chenille stems
  • gold tinsel
  • beads and or gems
  • beading wire
  • bobby pins to hold the crown in place

Left, the bent shape of a party crown for a Heart For Heart doll named Rahel. Center, here is the crown
in silver with gems. Right, Now you can see what it looks like with a bit of gold tinsel wrapped
around the bottom.
You can multiply the arches to make a smaller or larger party crown for either a eighteen or fourteen inch doll. I held the wire crowns up to my doll's head to measure the lengths and widths as I bent the chenille stems.

Left, gems wired for the crown. Center, I bent the entire crown into a bit of a overall arch or curve.
Right, now the gems have been added.
Using a little beading wire, I strung and wrapped a few gems to the inside of my party crown design. I chose to use white but any color would be nice for a doll's crown.

Left, is the larger 18" doll party crown bent from silver chenille stems. Right, is one of our 18" dolls
wearing a larger version of the same craft. Attach the crown to the doll's head using a bobby pin at each end.
