Thumb-sucking dolls suck their thumbs of course. They often come with a pacifier attached to their collars. There is a difference between thumb-suckers and open mouth dolls. Thumb-sucking dolls have a distinctly round, deep opening, in their mouth without teeth. They must also have baby or toddler like bodies. Because if you see a mouth this shape on an adult or child doll it is called a whistler.
Thumb-sucking dolls have been around for at least 100 years, maybe even more. Our two vinyl examples are not that old; they are from the 1990s.

Left, is a Lee Middleton baby from 1996. Right, is a baby thumb-sucker by Uneeda from 1990-99. She also has a pacifier that fits neatly into her mouth. |

These two trouble makers rock together and suck their thumbs when not being fed. |
