Craft a Sleeping Bag With a Doll Inside

This little doll is constructed first and then the felt sleeping
bag is glued directly onto her figure
.

To make this baby inside a sleeping bag you will need to gather a few supplies from your craft stash: oven bake clay, a wooden ice cream spoon, newsprint, masking tape, a mold for a doll's face, paints for that face, green felt, tacky white glue, yellow ribbon, a button and needle with green thread.
First, you will need to mold the doll's face and paint it. If you don't have much experience in painting faces, you can purchase flesh colored clay to work with. This will also eliminate some of the work involved with painting. If you decide to do this, just highlight the eyes, eyebrows and lips with a bit of color. Bake the clay, let it cool and glue it to the spoon part of the recycled wooden utensil.
Next, you will need to crush and tape a body for the doll using newsprint and masking tape. Because our miniature scout is bundled up in a felt sleeping bag, you will not need to worry about the exact physical proportions of the doll. Just crush and tape a general form that looks something like a little child wrapped snugly for a cool night outdoors.
Thread your needle and gather a half circle of felt around the head of the doll, leaving an opening large enough for her face only to poke through. Then wrap and glue felt to cover the rest of her body. Nip and tuck with a seam or two with matching green thread, cover these seams with yellow ribbon. Attach a button for detail.
