Coloring page made from an original coloring contest for kids in the 1950s. Ginger and Zippy give away by small independent toy company "Lanburgh's Toy Department" |
Cosmopolitan dolls were produced by a company founded by Kathryn Kay in Jackson Heights, New York. The dolls were made of plastic or vinyl. The earliest Ginger dolls had wigs and sleep eyes and some of the varieties were walker dolls. The dolls came with many many different fashions. Probably because the company's founder worked at for Vogue Dolls as a sales representative in her early career and understood all little girl's fascination with dress-ups and costumes. Some of the Ginny Doll's wardrobe included: wedding ensembles, Girl Scout uniforms, fire fighters costumes, night ware, fairy wings, rocket ship helmets, Mickey Mouse club outfits etc...
The Vintage Doll Collector shares a small catalogue
featuring Ginger and Zippy Dolls from 1957.
