Down by the haystack
Behind the barn,
Underneath the chicken coop
On the old country farm.
Up in the apple tree
Down by the creek,
Up the path into the woods,
Playing hide and seek.
Into the buggy,
Laying down flat,
Underneath the Model T
Up to the table to a won-
derful surprise --- Chicken
And dumplings and homemade
Apple pies.
Up the creaky old stairs
And into my featherbed.
Old Sandman’s coming!
What a busy day I’ve had.
