Make one hopper for feed and the other for water so that you can pretend to feed your doll's hens, rooster and chicks. We intend to hang the feed hopper just beneath our doll sized chicken coop so that our pretend chicken won't step in their food. The water hopper will be set on top of a stack of something to lift it just high enough for the farm fowl to drink from it without spillage.
Supply List:Hoppers for chicken feed and water.
- metallic tape or paint
- masking tape
- tin lids
- plastic caps
- cardboard toilet rolls
- masking tape
- hot glue and hot glue gun
- tiny 'seeds' for feed hopper
- Mod Podge
- chain links or twine for hanging a hopper
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Collect your supplies; make sure these are clean and ready to craft with.
- Cut down the length of the toilet cardboard tube. Then cut it in half exactly so that your hoppers will look like a matched pair.
- Using the masking tape to hold the tube in place, fit it inside the caps before taping it the size that you will need.
- Wrap the tubes in metallic tape or paint these if you haven't any tape.
- If you want to hang the feed hopper to your hen house coop or somewhere else, you will need to poke a large enough hole through the plastic cap to string a chain or twine through.
- Hot glue the tubes inside the caps and also at the inside of the larger tin lids where the food or water will go.
- Using white school glue or Mod Podge fill one hopper with feed or "seeds."
- Leave the hopper for water free of seed.
