HEbee and SHEbee Pretty Darn Cute!

Nearly all Twelvetree dolls, called HEbee and SHEbee are 10" tall but ours are
6"reproductions from 1995. The Horsman Company has always made these
dolls but Horsman has been purchased several times and so the dolls are now
currently made in China. Prior to 1960, Horsman dolls were made in America.

"Twelvetrees Kids"
from the pages of magazines and colored supplements of the newspapers, entertained children as well as grown-ups so well that they became nationally known and loved. HEbee-SHEbees have made a wonderful sales record during the Spring and Summer months. Be sure that you have a display of HEbee-SHEbees in your department for the Holidays."

Edward Imeson Horsman or E. I. Horsman originally opened a toy company in New York City in 1865. This company still exists today but has been incorporated with several other companies throughout history. Horsman produced and sold his HEbee and SHEbee dolls based upon the cartoon drawings of C. H. Twelvetrees, a popular illustrator of children from New York.

Some HEbee Doll Costumes:

  • 1926, Collegiate HEbee, who wore a stocking cap with a tassel and a knit romper with a large "Y" for Yale University I assume.
  • 1926, Pancho HEbee, who wore a trimmed sombrero, a romber, and fancy scarf with fringe and matching trim.
  • 1986, Sailor HEbee, wore a American Naval Costume that included a seaman's white cap with red anchor, a white full shirt with a navy blue sailor's collar that include white stripes and a red tie about the neck and navy/white stripes around the sleeves and bottom of the shirt. His stocking booties were baby blue molded plastic with baby blue ribbons.
  • 1926 and 1987 Groom HEbee, wore a black top hat and a matching black suit coat trimmed with a tiny boutonniere and sleeves trimmed in white lace. He wore blue molded stocking booties with a black ribbon in the 87 version.
Some SHEbee Doll Costumes:
  • 1926 and 1987 SHEbee Bride wore a lacy white trimmed bridal gown plus a lace trimmed veil and also carried a fake floral bouquet. Her molded, plastic pink booties were included with a white ribbon trim in the 87 version.
  • In 1986 Sailor SHEbee wore a dress with a navy lower skirt and a white upper blouse. Her sailor collar looked exactly like HEbee's and also included a red ribbon tie about the neck. Her hat was identical to her HEbee brother's, white with an anchor.
  • In 1926 SHEbee had a Sunbonnet Sal outfit that included a calico print dress and a sold bonnet. She also wore molded pink stocking booties with ribbon details.
  • Another costume from 1926 was of a ruffled romper and included a large bow attached to her head and the same classic, molded stocking booties with ribbons.
