I have made several versions of crowns for dolls. This one is by far the least difficult and it requires very few art supplies to make. For a bent chenille stem version go here.
The doll crown finished made using decorative papers and stickers. |
- decorative scrapbooking paper (two coordinating patterns)
- pattern below (print on home computer)
- gems and precut flowers
- white school glue
- paper clamp or two paper clips
- scissors
- a soft tape measure
- the doll you wish to fashion the crown for
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Download the largest file size for the doll paper crown below and print this out on a home computer. The original length of the pattern should measure 7 inches exactly. If it doesn't, drag it into a software program to resize it properly.
- When tracing and cutting out the pattern, make sure to line up the dotted edge along the folded edge of a half sheet of paper.
- After tracing and cutting the crown shaped pattern you should have a 14" length of the image below in the pattern. Repeat the steps.
- Now glue the front and back sides of decorative scrap papers together.
- Paste or staple the end tabs on till these line up. The last half point of the crown come together to make a complete point after gluing. Use the paper clips or paper clamp to hold the finished crown together until the glue dries hard.
- This paper crown pattern is designed to fit a American Girl doll's head.
- Trim the crown with plastic gems and flower stickers as you like.
