You can sculpt a cactus for any doll's plant collection!

This cactus was crafted using layers of: newsprint, masking tape, and kitchen foil. After manipulating these layers into the shape I wanted my desert beauty to look, I packed the cactus into a decorative clay pot and covered it with a final layer of brown paper and glue.
Then I gave the entire surface a layer of dark green paint and also used a sharp tool to make holes wherever I wanted to insert a toothpick tip and glue. I then let everything dry overnight.

To make the cactus look as though it is in bloom, I cut pink petals from paper and glue these around some clipped stamens cut from a ruffled orange, craft foam sheet. Hot glue the cactus flower on top of the plant and draw on more details using a pink felt marker.
Next, I painted on more green wavy details with acrylic colors, clipped and painted the thorns (toothpicks) and covered the soil in the pot with tea-leaf dust from a dry, unused tea bag.
